Inspiration
While online video conferencing tools have solved our problem of holding meetings remotely, it is tedious to create agenda items, take notes and create polls during the meeting without switching between different channels. Often participants are unable to pay attention as they get lost in taking notes.
What it does
Meeta is a solution that can help you enhance the meeting process for all participants. The app enables you to create a list of agenda items and prioritise them, take notes and create polls during the meeting. We used React front-end and a Express JS backend along with Mongo DB managed through Docker to build the app. This environment made deployment quite simple and allowed for less time in setting up an environment for all developers.
How we built it
The tech stacks are react.js, javascript, node.js and also html/css. We built it using react.js and we used css/html without any frameworks. We also used technologies such as docker and post man to test the backend of the app. We used git for version control
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we ran into is making the app living up to our expectations in the shortest amount of time (5 days). We realised that making the whole team focusing on the project is hard as we don't know other's capabilties. Another issue is solving bugs in short amount of time. While the process of developing the app had few challenges particularly in terms of creating features that can be both simple and useful, we learnt valuable tips on how to design a solution that can add value for the users who want to manage meetings better.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to complete it and also we realised the app into a working state within 5 days
What we learned
Planning and getting the whole team is important. But we all learned to tech stacks and improved on our previous tech stacks
What's next for Meeta (meeting agenda app)
In future, the app will include several features and technologies like AI to save time and customise the app to suit different types of meetings. The app will be able to listen to meeting in real time and make notes and also give recommendation for possible actions such as creating reminders and also polls.
