Inspiration

We got inspired to do this app because we as college students, most of the time have different schedules with our lifelong friends. And sometimes is difficult to get together with others to eat and learn about other gastronomical cultures in the University. This is where Meet to Eat comes into the game. With this app, people that want to get together with others can organize meals. Some people would get the ingredients, others have the cooking experience, others may share their homes.

What it does

It connects people that wan't to learn from gastronomy with the people that are good cooks and are willing to share their knowlegde.

How we built it

We used Swift to program the app, and Firebase to make our database. Additionally, with the help of basic photoshop skills, we designed some of the UI elements.

Challenges we ran into

None of us knew how to program an iOS app in Swift but we taught ourselves, this Hackathon was a good opportunity to learn about iOS development.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Integrating Google maps in our app with the ability to have different markers from the people that can cook, share their homes, or can buy the ingredients for a meal.
