Inspiration

The inspiration behind Meet and Greet stems from a deep passion for fostering meaningful connections and creating opportunities for people to network in a way that is both financially sustainable and personally rewarding. In today’s fast-paced world, genuine human interaction is often overlooked, yet it remains a cornerstone of personal and professional growth. We wanted to build a platform that not only brings people together but also addresses financial needs by creating value for users and businesses alike.

What it does

Meet and Greet is a dynamic networking platform designed to connect individuals, professionals, and communities in a meaningful way. It facilitates in-person and virtual meetups, allowing users to discover events, join interest-based groups, and build relationships that matter. The platform also integrates financial tools, such as ticketing systems, sponsorships, and premium memberships, to ensure sustainability while providing users with opportunities to monetize their skills and events

How we built it

We built Meet and Greet using a combination of modern technologies to ensure scalability, security, and user-friendliness. The front-end was developed with React for a seamless user experience, while the back-end leverages Node.js and Express for robust performance. We used MongoDB for database management to handle large volumes of user data and event information. For real-time interactions, we integrated WebSocket technology, and for financial transactions, we incorporated Stripe for secure payments. The platform is hosted on AWS to ensure reliability and scalability.

Challenges we ran into

Scalability: As the platform grew, we faced challenges in scaling the infrastructure to accommodate increasing numbers of users and events without performance bottlenecks.
