What it does

A website for a local skate shop to list it's products. Visitors can click on the order button of a product they want and will be redirected to the shop's whatsapp chat along with a pre-built message.

Also built a CMS for the owner to manage the products listed on the website.

How I built it

The main website

I built the website with VueJS and used client side rendering to fetch the json file containing the product listing (stored on Amazon S3) infomation and render it. The website is hosted on Firebase using Firebase Hosting.

The CMS

The owner uploads a picture of a products and enters infomation such as name, size & price. The Image is uploaded to cloudinary and the product info is added to a json and is uploaded to Amazon's S3.

Challenges I ran into

  • Managing tasks and feature-creep (the urge to add unimportant features)
  • Deploying the CMS on Heroku with Fastify.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I made a full stack application.

What I learned

  • Declarative rendering with VueJS & EJS
  • FileReader API & Base64
  • Control Flow & Error Handling
