Inspiration
The healthcare industry is booming and many problems are created. One of the biggest problems is how much time is wasted in between data transfer times and also wasted in the time.
What it does
This web-app tries to unify many of the medical information in the field. On the website, you can create an account and input all of your user information and medical information. Furthermore, on the app end, the use can view their profile and also check into an appointment with it.
How I built it
It was built off of firebase backend with angular.js. The front end is made with jquery. The web-app is also tied with our ios app which pulls from our firebase backend.
Challenges I ran into
The challenges that we ran into was that getting our backend to communicate with our front end was difficult. We ran into compatibility challenges and data pulling challenges
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
From a user entering data, to see the users in our data base was a very rewarding experience. The ability to retain that information and also to retrieve that information when we need it, is very rewarding as well.
What I learned
We learned that its very complicated to deal with calendars, to program them and also to use them. There were so many corner cases of calendar programming that made it very hard to write a good one.
What's next for MedxPort
The next step for our project, is to implement a larger data base, and to further standardize it to medical templates.
