Inspiration
Our friend told us a story of having to get medical information for one provider and get it to another provider, and how not in control he was of his own medical records. The procedure of transferring medical data was a pain for him and took days of communication.
What it does
Transfer necessary medical files to health care providers via high payload QR codes.
How we built it
Created an MVP and demonstrated an scenario
Challenges we ran into
Limited patent knowledge, and having to deduce our own definitions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to come up with a great idea and researched/understood the technology and processes behind existing systems for medical data
What we learned
The handling of medical patient information is very inefficient and can be greatly improved with this technology that can provide lossless transmission of medical data to providers. Also learned a lot about QR code and their applications.
What's next for medXchange
The use of machine learning and AI to assess your health condition, recommend a hospital/facility based on possible factors such health insurance, and have all the necessary medical files ready to be transferred via secure qr code to the medical provider. According to the HIPAA Privacy Rule, nobody should see more patient information than required to do their job. This can eliminate the problem where there ends up being really important information that is knowable, but not known by the right people at the right time.
