MedX
Inspiration
The inspiration for MedX came from the challenges faced by both patients and healthcare providers in streamlining medical operations, reducing waiting times, and improving diagnostic accuracy. We wanted to create a solution that combines AI with healthcare to revolutionize patient experiences and enhance operational efficiency.
What it does
MedX is an end-to-end healthcare platform that:
- Reduces booking time with smart virtual queue management.
- Provides SOS emergency functionality for immediate assistance.
- Utilizes AI to assist doctors in better diagnosis and early detection of complications.
- Manages medical records, including patient allergy data, to ensure safe prescriptions.
- Seamlessly integrates into existing workflows with features like appointment scheduling, digital prescriptions, and automated follow-ups.
How we built it
- Frontend: Developed using modern frameworks (Nextjs) for a responsive and user-friendly experience.
- App: Developed in hybrid framework Flutter for both Android & IOS.
- Backend: Built with scalable technologies, integrating AI for diagnosis and queue predictions.
- AI: Leveraged machine learning models to analyze medical history, detect potential complications, and provide smarter consultations.
- Database: A secure and HIPAA-compliant system for storing medical records and prescription data.
- Integration: Partnered with existing clinics to redirect patients needing specialized equipment.
Challenges we ran into
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations like HIPAA.
- Balancing AI predictions with medical professionals’ expertise.
- Managing real-time queue updates and scheduling conflicts.
- Securing partnerships with clinics lacking advanced medical equipment.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Successfully reduced documentation and patient wait times by up to 50%.
- Developed a reliable AI model for medical history summarization and allergy detection.
- Launched a fully functional doctor's website (medx.org.in).
- Built a scalable platform capable of handling diverse healthcare operations.
What we learned
- The critical importance of data security and compliance in healthcare.
- Effective communication between technical and medical teams.
- Optimizing user experience for both patients and healthcare providers.
What's next for MedX
- Launching the patient app to improve accessibility.
- Partnering with more clinics to provide emergency redirection services.
