Inspiration

We recognized the inefficiencies in traditional healthcare scheduling methods, from time overlaps to resource wastage and patient dissatisfaction. We wanted to revolutionize this critical aspect of healthcare to make it more streamlined and efficient for all. We also realized that the Doctor/Nurse suicide rate is at an all-time high, this is also part of the inspiration for this project, the solution was to give all the staff breaks to relax, eat, and mentally prepare for the next patient.

What it does

MedSched.ai uses advanced AI algorithms to automate the process of patient scheduling. Our system focuses on providing optimal appointment times, minimizing resource wastage, and enhancing the overall patient-doctor experience. Priority-based allocation ensures that critical cases receive immediate attention.

How we built it

We used a mix of machine learning algorithms to handle the scheduling, and priority queues to address critical cases. The back-end is developed with robust algorithms that process scheduling requests in real-time. For the front-end, we used React to build a user-friendly interface, which integrates seamlessly with existing healthcare systems.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was ensuring that our algorithms could handle a large number of scheduling variables while still providing optimal results.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our AI-driven approach, which not only makes the scheduling process more efficient but also prioritizes critical cases. Our system has shown a reduction in wait times by up to 50% in initial tests and has improved the overall patient-doctor satisfaction rates.

What's next for MedSched

We plan to integrate MedSched.ai with Electronic Health Records (EHR) for more seamless operations. Further down the line, we aim to expand our services to include additional healthcare services such as lab appointment scheduling and telehealth options.
