How we built it
To built MedScan, we utilized HTML, CSS, TensorFlow , Google Cloud, ML, Figma, and more.
MedScan was coded in HTML and styled using CSS and then we utilized APIS to store the medications as well as JS for adding functionality. Furthermore, we used Google Cloud for user authentication.
First we used Figma to develop a prototype which we used to scale our web app. Figma greatly helped us vision our web application and be on the same page. Using Figma we were able to vision each page which made it easier for all of us to collaborate and create the components of our web application.
Challenges we ran into
The fact that we are in 3 different time zones (which are almost 12 hours apart) made it extremely hard for us to collaborate and code at the same time, but we were able to develop a way to get our project done. We scheduled several sync-ups and async progress checks so we could get our submission in on time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of being able to integrate so many functional components into our project in the limited time we have. Even more than that, we are proud of creating a solution that can help resolve such a widespread problem. Additionally, we are proud of being able to collaborate with our skills in order to build this application within the given time frame.
What we learned
We learned how to manage our time and communicate effectively as all our teammates are located in different parts of the world. We also learned how useful Figma can be along with how to develop more.
What's next for MedScan
- Include an integration system for doctors to upload their prescriptions for patients.
- Create a system that checks the inventory for the user's medicine in other pharmacies around them.
