Inspiration

 This is our very first hackathon and it has been extremely exciting so far. For a developing and progressing country like India, there is no lack of technology and skill in health care. Implementation of it across different socio-cultural and economic sectors has been difficult. Healthcare should be efficient and affordable to all. Informational need is as important as physical and emotional needs. Clinical error due to lack of information needs to be addressed. 

What it does

We have created an interface with an end point service to extract data from EMR of hospitals and with a provision of manual upload by the hospital and the patient to keep all the medical history. The medical history can be shared by patient to their doctor with ease using a time bound authorization enabling data security and privacy. This will provide a transition from provider-centered care delivery model to patient-driven care delivery model. The interface can be used from both web and mobile and in local Indian languages.

Challenges we ran into

Thyme frame implementation, mongo DB cloud connectivity, limited time to dedicate due to professional commitments.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to do a lot of research and a POC within the given span of time and team size given our work commitments. We bonded well as a team and helped each other out. 

What we learned

India's healthcare system desperately needs to keep up. The next wave of artificial intelligence-led disruptions are taking off in the healthcare space. Data is crucial for this next phase. We should not lose out due to our lack of uniformity. It’s time for a national platform for unbiased healthcare information, blind by design to make sure it is not used to prejudice against select patients or groups.

Translation of medical records in local languages using machine learning and image analysis.
