Inspiration

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has shed light on the world’s healthcare system. Although some countries like Singapore and Australia has managed to contain the situation and “flatten the curve”, other countries like Indonesia and the United States are still struggling trying to manage the situation. One major reason behind this is their unpreparedness. In Indonesia, thousands of Covid-19 cases are still emerging every day with hospitals nearing their maximum capacity, forcing them to reject some patients even though they are already in critical conditions and Covid-19 positive. This very problem has brought up many other problems such as overcrowding of hospitals and thus, higher rate of transmission in those places. This is very inefficient and dangerous as these patients would have to go “hospitals hopping” without the assurance of even getting a place for treatment.

What it does

It helps Patient to reserve before going to the hospital so that there is no time wasted.

How we built it

We build it using React, Firebase, and flutter.

Challenges we ran into

The challenge is that our team members used different framework, therefore we need to decide on a framework and study it from the beginning again.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to be able to finish this hackathon.

What's next for MedReserve

In future iterations, we can make the website version for hospitals as well as mobile app versions for patients. A web version for hospitals would be useful as it would enable hospitals to have a better view of all applicants. For patients, mobile app would allow them to edit, cancel or follow up regarding their applications. Hospitals would also be able to contact them via the app. For the hospitals, more features can be added to the app such as monitoring their patients.
