Inspiration

With healthcare system being translucent to the patients and doctors as well. We have designed an application which keeps track of the health records of a patient with the associated details of the doctor who treated and the hospital at which the treatment was undertaken.

What it does

A mobile application, where the user - patient - can sign up and track her appointment details, medical treatment history. Another user - doctor - who can add the patient's treatment procedures and related information for keeping the patient well-informed, thus patient attaining transparency of their hospital visit.

How we built it

Used Swift to develop the application, python flask server to query from/to the firebase database.

Challenges we ran into

Had hard time to pinpoint the power of hospital network in the application, but at the end we decided to add privileges to just 2 users - doctor, patient. Wrote the Swift and firebase code from scratch.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Quickly learnt working of Swift and firebase and implemented in 3 hours.

What we learned

The disparity in the information flow to the patients in the healthcare system is vast. We designed this application as a small attempt to add transparent healthcare system in place.

What's next for MedReco

  1. Add doctor's responsibilities - update patient's records, add their calendar for new appointments.
  2. Add support for telehealth services in the application
