What it does MedPouch is an all-in-one medical wallet that helps people organize and access their health information in one place. It lets users store prescriptions, allergies, and essential medications, create an emergency wallet card, and find safe medicine alternatives when traveling. The app is built with SwiftUI for iPhone and keeps data securely stored on the user’s device for easy and private access. It’s simple to use for all ages and designed to make managing health information stress free. With MedPouch, your medical details are always organized, accessible, and ready when you need them.
How we built it The app is built with SwiftUI for iPhone and keeps data securely stored on the user’s device for easy and private access. I built and tested the app to make sure features like saving medications, emergency wallet cards, and family profiles worked correctly. I focused on keeping the app fast, organized, and easy to use so people can manage their health information without feeling overwhelmed.
Challenges we ran into One of the main challenges I faced while building MedPouch was designing the app’s interface and developing the Travel Medication Finder. I had to research many medications and their safe alternatives to ensure the information was accurate. Making the app user-friendly was also challenging because I wanted it to be simple and easy to navigate for people of all ages. It took careful planning and testing, but this process helped make MedPouch reliable and accessible for everyone.
Accomplishments that we're proud of With MedPouch, your medical details are always organized, accessible, and ready when you need them. I am proud that the app brings prescriptions, allergies, emergency information, and family profiles into one simple place. I am also proud that MedPouch works smoothly on iPhone and helps people stay prepared when traveling.
What we learned I learned how to structure an app, work with different features, and solve technical problems as they came up. I also gained experience designing a user-friendly interface and making sure the app works smoothly for anyone who uses it. Overall, while creating this app, I faced many obstacles, but I was able to learn something new from each problem or error I encountered. The process helped me become more creative and patient as I worked through fixing errors and learning how everything functions.
What's next for MedPouch If I were to create a 2.0 version of MedPouch, I would add more features to make it even more useful. One improvement would be adding support for multiple languages so people who don’t speak English can use the app more easily. I would also include a section with health tips and guidelines tailored to your medications and conditions, helping to make MedPouch more informative and helpful for everyone. These updates would give users even more tools and information to manage their health safely and effectively.
