Inspiration
Every great innovation starts as a vague, abstract thought. Yet, the chasm between ideation and execution is where most projects fail. We are often overwhelmed by initial complexity—how to scope, how to sequence, and how to delegate.
We built MeDo Muse to bridge this gap. Inspired by standard professional command center setups, we wanted to build an AI-First workspace that doesn't just "chat" about ideas, but instantly compiles them into secure, actionable, multi-user Kanban pipelines with single-click intelligence.
What it Does
MeDo Muse is an immersive AI Creative Strategist:
- Initialize Objectives: Enter any raw, ambiguous concept (e.g., "Build a local, solar-powered EV sharing grid"), and the Muse uses Gemini to compile a cohesive project title, detailed strategic analysis, and a structured, prioritized phase breakdown.
- Operational Control Center: Deploys the generated tasks directly onto a high-performance Kanban execution pipeline.
- Intelligence Decomposition: Click into any phase, and trigger the Muse to break down complex tasks into atomic execution steps.
- Real-time Sync & Secure Isolation: Multi-user collaboration powered by Firebase with strict, identity-linked access filters.
How We Built It
We designed the application with a high-end, immersive "Mission Control" aesthetic using custom glassmorphism and modern display fonts.
- Frontend Architecture: Built using React 18 and Vite 6 for blazing-fast client rendering, styled with the next-generation Tailwind CSS v4 design system, and animated with fluid, spring-physics-based transitions via Framer Motion (
motion/react). - Intelligence Gateway: Powered by Gemini 3.5 Flash server-side, structured strictly using the latest official
@google/genaiSDK and structural schema definitions. - Storage & Identity Layer: Configured with a cloud-provisioned Google Firestore database and verified Firebase Authentication (Google Identity Provider).
- Security Shield: Deployed strict attribute-based access control (ABAC) security rules to ensure private creative assets are isolated at the database layer.
Challenges We Overcame
- Eliminating LLM Structural Fuzziness: Early iterations faced issues where unstructured AI responses occasionally broke the Kanban model layout. We resolved this by defining matching schema bounds at the API compiler level inside
server.tsto enforce explicit JSON properties. - Handling Database Race Conditions: Writing multiple nested elements immediately after project creation caused sync lags. We implemented an asynchronous writing loop that establishes the primary document before initializing sub-collection operations sequentially.
- Popup and State Blockers: Creating seamless popup auth inside sandboxed frame environments is notoriously difficult. We wrapped our auth calls in state-checks to prevent simultaneous promises, while creating clean visual instructions if the browser blocks a popup.
What We Learned
We learned how profoundly cohesive a workspace feels when the interface and the underlying generative AI are built to complement each other. By removing the chat bar and replacing it with contextual buttons like "Invoke Muse decomposition", we create an elite, professional flow where artificial intelligence acts as an integral operational gear instead of a conversational novelty.
