During COVID-19 lock down many Medical Doctors couldn't offer their medical services and support patients in need.

On the other side patients were not able to access easy and safe medical assistance. They stayed at home, afraid of contracting the virus. Suddenly patients with chronic diseases lost the opportunity to consult their own problems with physicians because the whole medical world focused on the fight against COVID-19.

Furthermore some Medical Doctors were on quarantine and they had to be in physical isolation. Many any of them running small private medical practices lost the only source of income for their families.

How to make isolated Medical Doctors to provide remote medical assistance? How to make to provide European Union citizens safe preventive medicine? How to get fast, secure and affordable medical advice?

By asking ourselves, other patients and Medical Doctors those questions we came together to conclusion that we need to create digital, mobile first platform offering immediate remote medical consultations by licensed Medical Doctors to all European Union citizens. This is how the idea MedNow was born.

Impact Potential

There are approximately 1 800 000 Medical Doctors in the European Union.

MedNow survey shows that more than 20 000 Medical Doctors in European Union were quarantined.

General lock down impacted more than 100 000 Medical Doctors causing medical exclusion of their patients.

Private medical practices had to close as the in-person appointments were banned.

• Hospitals were put in quarantine.
• Medical Doctor had to stay home to take care of their children due to schools closures.
• According to the OECD data on an average 1 absent Medical Doctor impacts 300 patients.

Problem

More than 30 000 000 patients in the European Union faced limited or non-existing medical service during the COVID-19 crisis.

MedNow Impact

MedNow is changing it and by offering online access to healthcare services to more than 445 000 000 EU citizens will not let any of them be left behind anymore.

Completion

During the #EUvsVirus hackathon we have developed running prototype from 0 to running pilot in just 48 hours.

Business Plan

Furthermore we have developed business plan aiming to roll out MedNow gradually and make it available in all European Union countries in less than 1 year
