Inspiration
My introduction to the world of Web3 was through this idea. I attended my first-ever online hackathon in Web3 and when I heard about the concept of blockchain, this was the first idea that popped into my head.
What it does
It is a simple prototype that demonstrates the general idea of this project. It accepts the wallet address of a patient and allows the MedMe smart contract to store data submitted into patient records. Only the number of records and the specific patient record can be accessed, that too only when the patient readily reveals their address.
How I built it
I tried implementing this project using Hedera, but I did not receive the Hedera currency into my account and it said it needed 24 hours to refill, so I stuck to implementing the smart contract on the Remix IDE. I had not coded in Solidity for a long time, so I asked ChatGPT for help. I modified the code presented by GPT to make sure the patient records were not publicly accessible, and I could add a record using a patient address and encrypted data, and not just by the contract invoker.
Challenges I ran into
The main challenge was trying to set up Hedera and understand how I could try to upload real files and demonstrate this project better. However, I did not get access to their currency to execute smart contracts. So I chose this path.
What we learned
I learnt about finding different ways to implement the same idea. I had been trying with Hedera for the past few hours and then this struck me as a simple way to demonstrate what I had in my head.
What's next for MedMe
I will try to build a better and more robust smart contract for MedMe and include encryption too.
