Inspiration

Antibiotic resistance is a global threat, impacting the effectiveness of antibiotics and jeopardizing public health. We recognized the need to tackle this problem by promoting proper antibiotic usage and adherence. Our inspiration led us to develop Medley, an innovative app designed to empower individuals to take control of their health and contribute to a healthier future.

What it does

Medley is a comprehensive app that addresses the challenges of antibiotic resistance by providing users with the tools they need to adhere to their antibiotic regimens properly. The app incorporates features such as reminders, dosage tracking, and educational resources to promote responsible usage and reduce the risk of treatment failure. By empowering users to follow their prescribed treatment plans, Medley aims to prevent recovery delays, minimize the complications of infections, and curb the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

How we built it

(Current State: Figma Prototype) The app's front end will be developed using React Native, allowing for cross-platform compatibility and a user-friendly interface. The backend will be built on a robust cloud infrastructure, leveraging AWS services for scalability and security. The app will also integrate with NFC technology for the convenient scanning of medication tags and utilizes AI algorithms for personalized reminders and notifications.

Challenges we ran into

During the development process, we encountered challenges in designing an intuitive user interface that caters to individuals of all ages and technical backgrounds. We also had to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the reminder system to accommodate various treatment plans and dosages. Additionally, incorporating educational content that is engaging and easy to understand presents its own set of challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have developed Medley, a solution that addresses a pressing global health issue. Our app promotes responsible antibiotic usage, empowers individuals to take charge of their health, and contributes to a healthier future for everyone. We are also proud of the intuitive user interface, seamless integration of NFC technology, and the extensive educational resources we have included to raise awareness about antibiotic resistance.

What we learned

We recognized the significance of combating antibiotic resistance as a global health issue. This motivated us to create Medley as a solution to promote responsible antibiotic usage and adherence.

What's next for Medley

Ultimately, our goal is to make Medley a global tool in the fight against antibiotic resistance and secure a healthier future for generations to come.
