What it does
MediXR Trainer is an XR-based learning platform that simulates medical procedures using VR/AR. Students can interact with 3D models of the human body and practice medical techniques in a safe environment.
How we built it
We built the project using Unity and XR Toolkit for immersive experiences. AI APIs help guide students with step-by-step instructions, while Firebase manages user data and progress.
Challenges we ran into
Designing realistic 3D medical models and ensuring smooth XR interaction were challenging during development.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully developed a prototype of an XR-based healthcare training platform. The platform allows users to learn medical procedures in an immersive virtual environment. We integrated AI guidance to explain medical steps clearly. We used 3D models and XR technology to make the training more interactive and realistic.
What we learned
We learned how XR technologies (VR & AR) can be used in healthcare education. We gained experience using tools like Unity, AI APIs, and 3D modeling software. We improved our teamwork, problem-solving, and project development skills during the hackathon.
What's next for MediXR Trainer
We plan to add more medical training modules for different procedures and healthcare topics. We aim to improve the XR experience with better graphics and more realistic 3D simulations. In the future, we want to integrate advanced AI assistance to guide users more effectively during training. We also plan to make the platform accessible for medical students, nursing students, and healthcare professionals. Finally, we hope to collaborate with hospitals and educational institutions to test and improve the system in real learning environments.
