Inspiration
Many people rely on random internet searches for health issues, often getting confusing or wrong information. Delays in recognizing serious symptoms can lead to bigger problems. We wanted to create a fast, simple, and accessible AI system that gives reliable first-level guidance and helps users take timely action.
What it does
MEDIX AI helps users understand their health symptoms instantly. Users can type or speak their symptoms, and the system analyzes them to suggest possible conditions, provides simple explanations, recommends diet and recovery steps, and detects emergency situations in real time. It acts as a first-level healthcare assistant, guiding users on what to do next safely and quickly.
How we built it
MEDIX AI was built from scratch using pure development skills without relying on AI code generators. The frontend was designed using Lovable to create a clean, responsive interface with voice input support via the Web Speech API.
On the backend, we developed a custom MCP server using FastAPI, where all healthcare logic—symptom analysis, diet recommendations, and emergency detection—was implemented manually using structured logic and optimized workflows.
We integrated a lightweight LLM API specifically for generating simple, user-friendly explanations, ensuring safe and understandable outputs. The system was then connected to the Prompt Opinion platform, enabling seamless multi-agent interaction and real-time processing.
Every component—from API design to system integration—was carefully engineered to ensure performance, scalability, and a production-ready experience.
⚠️ Challenges We Ran Into
- Accurate symptom mapping: Converting basic user input into meaningful health insights without overpromising was tricky.
- Voice input reliability: Handling speech recognition errors and different accents required tuning.
- Safe AI responses: Ensuring outputs stay helpful but not misleading or overly medical.
- Emergency detection logic: Avoiding false positives while still catching serious cases.
- MCP integration: Making the server properly discoverable and compatible with the platform took effort.
- Real-time performance: Keeping responses fast while handling multiple API calls smoothly.
🏆 Accomplishments That We’re Proud Of
