Inspiration
Inspired by an Online article, where a Woman staggered into a Mexican Restaurant with a gun wound. People from the restaurant tried to call for an Ambulance but were having trouble communicating with the Dispatch Center due to them being only able to speak Spanish. As a result, the confusion led to a 10-minute delay in receiving Medical treatment.
What it does
Our solution, MediVoice, will eliminate the issue of language barriers through the use of real-time voice-to-text translation. Basically, when the user decides to contact an emergency service such as the Ambulance, the Ambulance can speak in their Native language, such as German, it’ll then be translated in real-time to an English text. Similarly, the user will be able to type in any language, which will then be translated into an automated voice speaking German. Therefore, eliminating the issues that arise with the Language Barrier.
How we built it
Our project uses Uizard, a wireframe tool that allows us to design web/mobile apps.
Challenges we ran into
Finding the right technology/languages for the actual implementation of our product.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We believe that we're very proud of the idea that we have, as not only can it improve the quality of life of fellow Singaporeans, but if the project were to go large scale, it might help people all over the world.
What we learned
The process of design thinking and drafting has helped us ideate our project. Also, the process of user journey mapping.
