Inspiration
Our inspiration for Medivance came from experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Watching the inefficiency of compounding as a first-hand viewer pushed us to build this project.
What it does
Our application will integrate itself in a Pharmacy's system and allow users in compounding to get faster, optimized data about their patients. This data calculation to make compoundable formulas is absolutely crucial to the safety and organization of pharmaceutical compounding.
How we built it
We first researched, a lot, into the workflows of healthcare workers and settled on pharmacists. We summarized their daily work and built a system powered by AI to model and streamline this behavior. After much time spent planning and optimizing this diagram, we turned to OpenAI's Codex and told it, step by step, exactly what to build.
Challenges we ran into
We spent a lot of time going around to pharmacy's and contacting corporations through email in order to get testimonials. It was an issue, however, due to the time constraints we had.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the outreach and results we were able to generate in 24 hours. We were able to get real pilot users and build a base to actually launch Medivance as a company. We were able to get pharmacist Chris Phillips, PharmD from Chris' Express Drug to pilot our product as well as two others!
What we learned
Teamwork and time management are simply key to building projects and business. We also learned that necessary research is crucial to success of the company.
What's next for Medivance
After this hackathon we plan on taking feedback from pilot users, working with companies to figure out HIPAA and healthcare violation in order to launch or product by next year.
