Inspiration

Managing medical records is still frustrating. Prescriptions, lab reports, scans, and medical documents are often scattered across different places, while medical terminology can be difficult for patients to understand. We wanted to build a solution that makes personal healthcare information organized, accessible, and easier to understand.

What it does

Mediva is an AI-powered personal health companion that securely organizes medical records in one place.

Users can upload prescriptions, lab reports, imaging reports, and other medical documents. Mediva organizes them into a chronological health timeline, helping users understand their complete healthcare journey.

Our AI assistant allows users to ask questions about their uploaded medical documents and explains complex medical information in simpler language.

How we built it

We built Mediva using a modern full-stack architecture with a responsive frontend, backend APIs, database storage, authentication, secure document management, and AI-powered document analysis.

We focused on creating a clean and intuitive experience while keeping privacy and security at the core of the platform.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was converting unstructured medical documents into useful, organized information.

We also had to solve challenges around securely handling sensitive documents, supporting different document types, creating a meaningful health timeline, and making AI responses contextual to each user's records.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building more than a simple medical document storage system.

Mediva connects medical records into a visual health journey and combines them with an AI assistant that helps users understand their own healthcare information.

We successfully brought document management, health history, and AI assistance together into one user-friendly platform.

What we learned

We learned that healthcare technology requires a strong balance between innovation, usability, privacy, and security.

We also learned how AI can be used to make complex information more accessible while keeping the user experience simple.

What's next for Mediva

We plan to expand Mediva with smarter health insights, improved document extraction, medication and appointment reminders, advanced health analytics, and stronger privacy features.

Our long-term vision is to make Mediva a trusted personal health intelligence platform that helps people better understand and manage their healthcare journey.
