Inspiration
The inspiration behind MediSlot is to bridge the gap between patients and healthcare providers, making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly. We wanted to create a platform that simplifies appointment booking and enhances communication between patients and doctors.
What it does
MediSlot allows users to browse a list of verified doctors, book appointments, and receive real-time notifications. It offers features like user registration, profile management, appointment tracking, and an admin system for managing doctor applications and user interactions.
How we built it
We built MediSlot using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) for robust backend support and responsive frontend interfaces. We implemented secure authentication with JWT, integrated Redux for state management, and used CSS for styling the user interface.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges in implementing real-time notifications and ensuring secure data handling. Integrating different components seamlessly and optimizing the user interface for various devices also posed significant hurdles.

We are proud of creating a comprehensive and user-friendly platform that enhances the healthcare experience. Successfully implementing real-time features and ensuring data security are significant accomplishments that contribute to the platform's reliability.
What we learned
We learned the importance of user-centric design and the complexities involved in developing secure and efficient web applications. Working with the MERN stack, handling state management with Redux, and implementing authentication systems were key learning experiences.
What's next for MediSlot
Next, we plan to add more features like telemedicine consultations, detailed doctor profiles, and advanced analytics for users. Expanding the platform's reach and continuously improving the user experience are our primary goals for the future
