MediSit

Inspiration

Twenty years of chronic pelvic pain from a car accident, and needing to build my own seat to find on-going comfort.

What it does

Supports the sitting bones with the right amount of softness so people gain awareness of the physics of sitting.

How we built it

Men's Shed in Cessnock, friend in Mullumbimby, my own software skills and Tony's research background.

Challenges we ran into

Educating how to use it. Manufacturing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It's something I've used since November 2016 on a regular basis and still use.

What we learned

Hard to please everyone. Works well. People have gaps in their self-image around sitting.

What's next for MediSit

Work with engineers to stress test materials, innovate portability and reducing weight.
