Inspiration
The inspiration behind MediShift Align was to address the growing challenges in healthcare shift management. Hospitals and clinics often struggle with scheduling conflicts, staff shortages, and operational inefficiencies. We envisioned a solution that leverages technology to optimize these processes, enabling healthcare professionals to focus on what truly matters—patient care.
What it does
MediShift Align simplifies and streamlines shift management by offering:
- Dynamic creation and management of staff roles, including doctors, nurses, and support staff.
- Intelligent shift allocation with real-time clash detection and conflict resolution.
- Comprehensive patient and room management.
- A user-friendly staff portal for viewing assigned shifts, clocking in/out, and tracking shift progress.
- Admin controls for updating, deleting, and managing patient and staff records.
- A bidding system for unfilled shifts to ensure optimal resource utilization.
How we built it
MediShift Align was developed using the MERN stack:
- Frontend: React.js for a responsive, user-friendly interface.
- Backend: Node.js and Express.js for handling business logic and APIs.
- Database: MongoDB for scalable and efficient data management.
- Integration: Axios for seamless communication between frontend and backend.
Challenges we ran into
