Inspiration

Millions of people struggle to access timely, reliable health advice due to barriers such as location, cost, and overwhelmed healthcare systems. This delay in receiving care can often lead to worsening health conditions, especially for vulnerable groups like the elderly. We wanted to address this challenge head-on.

What it does

To solve this problem, we created MediSearch, a tool that provides users with clear and relevant health information. Our goal was to make it easy to use, quick, and informative. Users can input their symptoms or health concerns, and MediSearch will guide them to general information, tips, and advice.

How we built it

Let’s walk you through how MediSearch works. It starts on the main page, where users can simply input their search query, such as 'I have a headache' or 'mental health issues.' After submitting, as you can see, users are presented with general information and tips relevant to their query. This streamlined process ensures they get what they need, fast.

Challenges we ran into

We attempted to incorporate ChatGPT API but we ran into issues involving pricing and debugging.

We are proud of being able to overcome obstacles and come up with new functions to develop the website more effectively.

What we learned

We gained hands-on experience with web development including HTML. Additionally, we learned the importance of efficiency and collaboration.

What's next for MediSearch

To further enhance MediSearch and cater to a broader audience, we have exciting plans for future developments. We aim to introduce a feature that allows users to connect with medical professionals for oversight. Users can request a review of their health concerns by a doctor if the system detects a need for professional intervention. This provides a seamless transition from self-guided information to professional medical advice, improving care quality. Furthermore, future integration with advanced AI tools will further enhance our service. Currently, we have a prewritten result as we have not connected with Chat GPT API. At the moment, results are static and do not yet leverage dynamic AI capabilities. We can utilize Chat GPT API to analyze user queries more accurately and provide more nuanced responses. This will improve the relevance and quality of information provided.
