Inspiration
The global pandemic Covid-19 highlighted some major issues in delivering medicine to chronicle patients that have for instance diabetes or heart conditions. Some of the issues are limited time and movement or self-isolation.
What it does
Our solution provides prompt online connections between pharmacies and chronic patients. Simple interface allows users to make a quick medicine quest. Quest content is distributed to pharmacies or distributors who answer the quest with the relevant details. After receiving offers the patient can select one and receive contact to arrange delivery or pick up of the medicine.
How we built it
It is built as web application for customers and as a desktop application for pharmacies. It is built on .NET Core technology.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was how to design application to be as simple as possible. To provide users with relevant information, and to simplify its use as well. From technology perspective setting up communication between the web side application and many client side applications was the biggest challenge to overcome in such short time frame.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have designed a product that can be of critical help in this dire times reducing unnecessary contact and time spent outside searching for the needed medicine. But that can also be used after the crisis has passed, to increase the efficiency and productivity by making pharmacies more competitive on the market and making searching and buying more convenient for the consumer.
What we learned
We have learned how to go from problem to solution, brainstorm and incorporate as much of the practicality as we can into the solution. And in the end, besides the application to develop as a team.
What's next for MediQuest
Next step would be putting the application into production. Integrating with customers and delivering production ready releases. Alongside further development of new features like result caching, reservation function, mobile application etc.
