Inspiration

Health information can often be difficult to understand. Blood reports contain many parameters such as cholesterol, glucose, and hemoglobin, which can be confusing for patients. Similarly, when people experience symptoms like dizziness or fatigue, it can be hard to know what they mean. Thus we thought of creating something which can be easy to use and can be used by people to access health reports and analyse them by their own so that they can know whether to take action or the condition is safe enough. MedIQ was created to help users better understand their health information in a simple and accessible way.

What it does

MedIQ is an AI-powered health assistant that helps users interpret medical information. It can analyze blood report values, provide guidance based on symptoms through interactive questions, and check whether two medicines may have harmful interactions along with other functionalities like sending SOS to Hospital or calling for an ambulance.

Another important feature of MedIQ is that it maintains a history of a patient's previous interactions with the chatbot along with the reports generated by the system taking into consideration these previous interactions. This allows users to revisit past analyses, review earlier conversations, and better understand their health information over time.

We have also added multilingual support so that peoplw can converse with it and use it in various languages.

How we built it

We built MedIQ using a web interface connected to AI models that analyze user inputs. The system compares medical values with standard medical ranges, processes symptom descriptions through structured questioning, and checks medicine combinations using drug interaction data.

The platform also stores previous user interactions and generated reports, enabling users to access their health history and maintain continuity between different consultations.

Challenges we ran into

We initial run into the main problem of training our AI model as amidst the intricacy of diseases and diagnosis it was quite a challenge. One challenge was simplifying complex medical information without losing accuracy. Another challenge was designing interactions that felt natural and intuitive while still providing useful health guidance.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating something that can help any person who deosnt need to wait to get doctor's appointment and can themself check their health condition, thus our app is just like providing first aid and guiding the patients about their immediate actions. We successfully combined multiple health assistance features — report analysis, symptom interaction, medicine interaction checks, and health history tracking — into one platform that helps users understand their health information based on their previous medical history more clearly.

What we learned

Through this project we learned how technology can help make complex health information easier to understand. We also learned the importance of presenting medical insights in a clear and responsible way so that patients can benefit from it and work according to their problems .

What's next for MedIQ

In the future, MedIQ could support uploading full medical reports, integrate larger health datasets, and further improve accessibility so that a wider range of users can benefit from clearer health insights.
