Inspiration

The inspiration behind MedIQ stemmed from the need to address the challenges individuals face in understanding their prescribed medications. We recognized that many people lack access to detailed information about their medications, which can lead to confusion and potential health risks. By leveraging OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology, we aimed to empower individuals to easily analyze their prescriptions, understand medication details, and make informed decisions about their health. Our goal was to create a solution that enhances medication safety and improves overall healthcare literacy, ultimately leading to better health outcomes for users.

What it does

MedIQ is a comprehensive healthcare platform powered by AI. It provides detailed information about prescribed medicines using OCR technology, accurately predicts brain tumors, and offers an intuitive appointment booking system. Users can access vital health insights, schedule doctor visits, and make informed decisions about their well-being through the MediChat AI interface.

How we built it

MedIQ was built using a combination of artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and machine learning techniques. The OCR technology for medicine information extraction was developed using computer vision algorithms. Brain tumor prediction models were trained on medical imaging data, and the appointment booking system was implemented using web development technologies.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our AI models, especially in predicting brain tumors. Data collection, preprocessing, and model training required significant effort and expertise. Additionally, integrating various features seamlessly into a user-friendly interface presented its own set of challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have achieved a 93% accuracy rate in medicine information extraction and developed a highly accurate brain tumor prediction model. Our intuitive appointment booking feature streamlines the process of scheduling doctor visits, enhancing the overall user experience. Additionally, we're proud of creating a platform that has the potential to positively impact healthcare accessibility and efficiency.

What we learned

Throughout the development of MedIQ, we learned the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between healthcare professionals, data scientists, and software engineers. We gained valuable insights into the complexities of healthcare data, the challenges of AI model development in a medical context, and the importance of user-centered design in healthcare applications.

What's next for MedIQ

In the future, we plan to further enhance MedIQ by incorporating additional features such as personalized health recommendations based on user data and expanding our predictive capabilities to cover a wider range of medical conditions. We also aim to integrate MedIQ with electronic health record systems to provide seamless access to medical history and improve overall continuity of care. Additionally, we're exploring opportunities to expand MedIQ's reach globally and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care.
