Inspiration

In my country, there’s amazing talent in nail art and beauty services, but many artists don’t have websites or easy ways for clients to book appointments online. This inspired me to create a simple, stylish platform that helps these artists showcase their work and manage bookings seamlessly.

What it does

MedinaNailStudio lets clients easily see available appointment slots and book online—no need to call and check if there’s an open spot on their preferred date. This makes scheduling simple, fast, and convenient for both clients and nail artists.

How we built it

I built MedinaNailStudio using React for a fast, interactive user experience, Bolt.new to quickly scaffold and deploy the app, and Supabase as the backend for managing data and appointments. This stack allowed me to create a responsive, real-time platform that looks great on desktop and mobile devices.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was managing the timeslots for appointments based on the duration of each service. Keeping track of how long each appointment should last and making sure timeslots didn’t overlap was tricky and really made me think carefully about the scheduling logic.

Making the site fully responsive, so clients can easily access it on any device.

What we learned

We learned how even a small, well-designed website can make a big difference in helping local businesses like nail salons grow. Having an easy way for clients to discover services and book appointments online improves visibility, saves time, and builds trust.

What's next for MedinaNailStudio

Plans include adding automated appointment reminders, client reviews, and a showcase gallery for new nail art trends. I want to keep improving the experience for both nail artists and clients, making MedinaNailStudio the go-to digital hub for nail care in my community.
