Inspiration

Finding medicines during emergencies is often difficult, especially in small cities like Chhindwara. People waste time visiting multiple stores without knowing availability. We wanted to solve this real-life problem by building a simple and quick way to search nearby medical stores.

What it does

MediLink helps users quickly search for medicines in their local area and shows which stores have them available. It saves time, reduces stress, and connects people with medical stores more efficiently.

How we built it

We built MediLink using Flask (Python) for backend to handle medicine data and APIs, React ,Vite ,tailwind for the frontend interface. For deployment, we used Vercel to host the frontend and connected it with our backend API.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating backend API with the deployed frontend was tricky. Handling dummy data for local medical stores required structuring. Deploying a Flask backend on free hosting with limited resources was challenging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a working prototype in a short time. Successfully deployed our project online so anyone can test it. Built a real-world solution that can help people in emergencies.

What we learned

How to integrate frontend and backend effectively. Deployment process using GitHub and Vercel. Importance of user-friendly design in healthcare solutions.

What's next for MediLink - Smart Medicine Tracker and Store

Adding a real database with live medicine stock updates from stores. Implementing location-based search (using Google Maps API). Creating a mobile app version for easy access. Expanding the network to cover more cities beyond Chhindwara.
