Inspiration

The inspiration for Medik comes from the need for a continued learning for practicing medical professionals. Medical education is typically heavily front-loaded causing "medical error" to be a leading cause of death. The evolution of new skills and medical practices is extremely slow (think decades), so a vector to encourage care providers to advanced their practices is needed. Our approach is a centralized platform that provides the newest content on emergency care techniques is emerging. There is a need for quantitatively verifiable data that shows doctors continue to advance their practice throughout their career. By displaying this data to partients through verifiable certifications, we'd be able to hold medical providers accountable for the quality of care they provide.

What it does

Medik is a medical education platform designed for continual learning. Users complete interactive courses and receive verifiable digital certifications upon course compleition and maintained activity on the platform. These certifications can be shared on professional networks, providing quantitative evidence of the medical provider staying up to date with the latest medical practice content. Medik also ensures accountability by tracking user activity both from platform interactions and course content interactions. Overall this platform is another quantitative measurement of the quality of care patients get, and holds doctors accountable for advancing their practices by showing patients their efforts to do so.
