Medifield

Inspiration

Most people (when asked what they want to be) will say a doctor but they most likely haven't thought about the type of doctor and I get it, choosing a medical profession will be overwhelming since there are so many to choose from. Also I wanted people to know that it doesn't matter who you are, you can still be a medical professional.

What it does

The app will be an adventure type it will allows users to customize an avatar that mirrors themselves, it will allow you to create desired path that you want to take to get the the chosen medical profession that will include choosing a high school, college, selected majors and etc. But the user doesn't know what medical field or profession they want to do they'll have a vast list of medical professions to choose from, they will then learn about the profession(s) they have chosen. Next the will be shown you a possible path they can take to becoming the profession they've chosen.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

There were a few problems and there still are with app, the main reason being the (teacher chosen) program that we are using is simply outdated and there really isn't a lot we can do. Which was frustrating because that meant the true vison I had for the app wasn't going to happen. But I recently had a meeting with Matthew Green, who happens to be a well-experienced programmer helped me realize that the purpose of the app doesn't have to change, that I just had to make the best with the resources the program had and that is exact what I did, he also gave me the inspiration I needed to remake the app in a simpler way and that will allow users to have an adventure type of experience while using the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Although the app is still in the developing stage, I'm proud that I have a accurate and almost precise vision of what I want the app to be and also that the main focus of the app is to encourage people to follow their dreams no matter how much doubt you have, I'm glad the app helps users create a plan of what they want their future career to be and the steps they are going to take to get to their desired career.

What we learned

I had two important realizations while working on this app and they are that I didn't even have a plan of how I was going to reach my desired profession but also I didn't have that much motivation in my earlier years of high school and I think that was because I hadn't a clue of what type of doctor I wanted to be.

What's next for Medifield

The only that I hope Medifield accomplishes is getting people to realize their goals in life (at least career wise) and to provide doubtful users a plan to help them achieve their desired career path because most of the time the reason you doubt yourself is because you don't have a plan of action.
