Inspiration

Navigating large hospitals can be a stressful and challenging task. Despite the multitude of provisional aids, patients and even doctors can still easily lose their way; decreasing the efficiency of care.

Our team was inspired by first-hand experience of having difficulty navigating hospitals and long wait times. Our personal experiences fueled our desire to address these challenges that are collectively faced by everyone who uses the healthcare system.

What it does

Medifi is a web-based React app that provides users with a seamless, real-time dashboard for tracking patients. Using MappedIn, users are able to see a live map that tracks doctor and patient location; making navigation clear and easy to see who needs help and where. This project aims to improve human resource allocation and provide an innovative alternative to outdated paging tech.

How we built it

This project was built mainly using TypeScript, React, and HTML/CSS along with heavy integration of MappedIn's SDK. The UI was designed using Figma.

Challenges we ran into

This was our teams first time using the MappedIn SDK so we experienced a steep learning curve. Due to hardware difficulties, our team decided to switch project ideas midway. Despite the challenges, our team was able to implement a fully functional dashboard application that we believe will have a positive impact on the healthcare industry.

What's next for Medifi

Our team wants to complete the implementation of the front-end, integrate the app within iOS and Android devices as well as develop a real-time tracking system. Creating a mobile version would allow for doctors to transition to a new paging system.
