Inspiration

Many people struggle to understand medicines due to complex medical terminology and unclear prescription instructions. This often leads to confusion, misuse, and potential health risks. We wanted to build a solution that makes healthcare information simple, accessible, and understandable for everyone.

What it does

MediExplain AI is a Generative AI-powered web app that explains medicines in simple language. Users can enter a medicine name or prescription text and instantly get:

  • What the medicine is used for
  • How to take it
  • Common side effects
  • Safety warnings It also includes Tamil translation, making it accessible to regional users. --- ## How we built it We built the application using modern AI-native tools:
  • Frontend: React with Tailwind CSS
  • AI Integration: OpenAI / Gemini API
  • UI Enhancements: Framer Motion for smooth interactions
  • Backend/Services: Supabase (if applicable)
  • Deployment: Lovable We used prompt engineering to ensure the AI generates structured, simple, and user-friendly responses. --- ## Challenges we ran into One of the main challenges was ensuring the AI output was both accurate and easy to understand. Simplifying complex medical information without losing meaning required careful prompt design.
