Inspiration

Today, the healthcare systems are being overwhelmed. Patients have to wait from a few hours to a few days before being able to see a doctor, and doctors are overwhelmed to face dozens of patients per day. This situation is caused by the high medical demand of the rising and aging population. However, they are also caused by patients who are overworring about their symptoms.

What it does

The user can consult with an AI avatar, see their vital signals, check for nearby hospitals, call said hospitals, and chat with a specially made AI to verify symptoms. It can also remind you of upcoming appointments and medication that you have to take.

How we built it

We used SwiftUI for the design, gemini for the AI responses and Azure for the avatar.

Challenges we ran into

We originaly thought about generating a video with AI, yet it didn't really work out for us, not only did it take really long to generate videos, it was hard for us to intergrate the generated content in our app. So we decided that instead, we can use the google text to speech AI to communicate with the user.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to intergrate a big GenAI model into our project and make it useful for us.

What we learned

We've learned teamworking, AI implementing, and practiced our coding skills.

What's next for MediConnects

We could, in the future, adopt more features such as a video call feature that could directly link the patient with the doctor through the screen, and connect with certain hospitals to make it hopefully more streamlined
