Inspiration

Around the world, many women face critical health issues without adequate support due to poverty, lack of resources, and limited healthcare access. This inspired us to create Medicare—a platform designed to empower women with AI-driven healthcare solutions. Leveraging Gemini’s advanced AI, Medicare provides essential tools for monitoring health, receiving timely reminders, and accessing personalized support, making quality healthcare guidance accessible to women everywhere.

What it does

Medicare is a comprehensive healthcare platform tailored for women, offering key features such as breast cancer prediction, a personalized chat with image support for health consultations, medication reminders, and a period tracker. Powered by AI, Medicare provides timely insights and personalized health support, helping women stay informed and proactive in managing their well-being.

How we built it

We built Medicare with React Native for the frontend, ensuring a seamless and accessible user experience. The backend uses Node.js and Express.js, with MongoDB for secure and efficient data storage. By integrating Gemini’s generative AI, we provide predictive analytics and personalized health insights, making Medicare a reliable companion for women’s health management. Additionally, we trained the Gemini models to enhance their ability to offer more accurate, context-aware responses, ensuring Medicare becomes a smarter and more effective healthcare assistant for women.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered various bugs and errors throughout development, especially with AI integration and seamless data handling. However, we tackled each issue patiently, troubleshooting and refining our approach to ensure Medicare delivers a reliable and smooth experience for users.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have successfully integrated Gemini’s generative AI to provide accurate health predictions and personalized support. Additionally, we created a user-friendly platform that combines key features like breast cancer prediction, medication reminders, and period tracking. By using MongoDB for secure data storage, we ensured a reliable, scalable solution. Most importantly, we’ve built a platform that empowers women to take control of their health, regardless of their circumstances.

What we learned

Through the development of Medicare, we gained a deep understanding of Gemini AI models, learning how to effectively leverage them for predictive analytics and personalized health insights. We explored how generative AI can be applied to healthcare, improving accuracy in predictions and enhancing user experiences. This journey also taught us the importance of data security, user-centered design, and the power of AI in addressing real-world challenges in women’s health.

What's next for Medicare

After Medicare, our next focus will be on addressing global poverty by contributing to healthcare accessibility and affordability. We aim to expand Medicare's features to support underserved communities, providing low-cost or free healthcare resources through AI-driven tools. By collaborating with global organizations, we plan to leverage technology to reduce healthcare disparities, empower marginalized women, and create sustainable solutions for those who lack access to basic healthcare services.
