Inspiration: My beloved uncle unexpectedly passed away from heart disease. Heart diseases are known to have had previous symptoms that can manifest themselves even weeks before. If only he had known what his symptoms meant, he would've been here today.
What it does: The aforementioned case and those of my teammates inspired us to develop this app, which could help someone find what their symptoms mean.
How I built it: My teammates and I used X-code and Swift to develop the app. We created the UI within X-code and used Swift to implement our interface. We created our survey using various questions about the patient's symptoms strung together with button segues. Finally, we computed which potential virus the user had using the symptoms. We used the City of Residence to determine which hospital the user would go to for medical testing.
Challenges I ran into
My teammates and I had trouble getting the segues to function properly, and we were also challenged by trying to implement and successfully code specific diseases for symptoms.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are proud that we were able to understand how Swift works and finally get the segues to work.
What I learned
We learned the basics of app development and the workings of Swift.
