Inspiration

We decided to build this project based on our experiences and interest in working with healthcare GIS data

What it does

Users can talk to a chatbot in plain English to identify gaps in regional healthcare resources and access

How we built it

We used Databricks Apps connected to Lakebase for near-real-time processing

Challenges we ran into

The data were unclean; for example, CSV parsing errors in the Facilities table likely caused column shifts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite having no prior background building with Databricks Apps, we built a working, useful application together.

We learned about using Databricks Apps for real-time data serving applications

Enhanced visualization capabilities via an interactive map where users can zoom in and identify facility-specific capabilities
