Inspiration

We sought inspiration from a personal blog that one of us made previously. We sought inspiration from this because the medical club at concord academy wanted a website that could help them keep track of the events in their campaign to help lessen the effects of COVID-19. This not only made it easier to format and plan , but also led the course of the development of the website.

What it does

The website's main purpose is to help the medical club keep track of their efforts, as well as display and advertise what they have done so far to other students. Also, the website helps the students accomplish certain tasks like navigating to google forms.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to program the website. Of course the deadline was too long to construct a professional-grade website from scratch, so we borrowed assets from online libraries such as Colorlib. We also researched into how servers, databases and APIs worked. Unfortunately they cost money to host, so instead we formatted the website in a way which can easily be adapted in the case the medical club can acquire funding to host the website.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenge was re-accustoming our selves to HTML and JavaScript. Most of the time, we code in Java or C++ so we had to do a refresher on HTML.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how the website came out aesthetically. Since web-design is not our forte, we needed to get a lot of references from other sites, but in the end we think it turned out good.

What we learned

We learned about web-design using the languages HTML, CSS, and Javascript. As well as how databases work with tools like PHP and Node.js.
