Inspiration
I know the throbbing pain of headaches all too well. They sneak up on you and can turn a good day upside down. And when you're lost on what to do, the frustration can be as bad as the pain. That's what lit the spark for me to create the Medical Advisor app. I needed something to guide me through my pain, to help me understand it without the dread of costly doctor visits. I wanted to share that relief with anyone who's been in my shoes.
As an immigrant starting from scratch with little money, I would have appreciated having the tools I've created here, which save not only money but also time. I needed access to doctors and lawyers, services I couldn't afford on a third-world country salary. Those hard times inspired me to create Medical advisor and legal assistant app.
What it does
Medical Advisor is like having a health expert in your pocket, ready to offer advice whenever those unwelcome headaches hit. It's comforting to have a buddy who not only understands your symptoms but also offers real steps to manage and improve them. It’s about giving you control and easing your mind, one symptom at a time.
How I built it
Putting together this app, I pulled from my experiences and the common questions we all have when we're not feeling great. It's crafted to be a friendly, easy-to-use interface that gently guides you from discomfort to understanding and action without any stress.
Challenges I ran into
Balancing the depth of information with ease of use was tricky. I wanted to give enough guidance without overwhelming anyone. Also, navigating the fine line between helpful advice and medical expertise was essential, keeping in mind that this is about support, not diagnosis.
Lack of integration, I did not see any support for integrating with external APIs which restrict the ability to enhance apps with external data sources and functionalities.
No being allowed to use statics images, enhanced markdown capabilities could help a little with this, for inserting images and changing font colors would greatly improve content presentation. I can do this in markdown since I have used this before, I tried to do the same here without success. This is important for adding personality to my project , to infuse my apps with life.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud of how Medical Advisor has become a source of comfort, not just for me but potentially for others too. Knowing that it might offer someone else relief from their headaches, even a little, is incredibly rewarding.
What I learned
I've learned that empowerment is a huge part of wellness. Understanding your health, knowing preventative steps, and having quick tips for relief can transform how you deal with something like headaches. I've seen firsthand how knowledge is power—especially when it comes to health. I hope Medical Advisor can empower others as it has empowered me.
