💡 Inspiration Access to healthcare is still a major challenge in many parts of the world, especially in developing regions. Long hospital queues, lack of nearby medical facilities, and limited access to expert consultation inspired us to create Medica—an AI-based platform that offers digital medical support anytime, anywhere. We envisioned a solution where people could rely on artificial intelligence to assist with their health needs from their own devices.

🤖 WellBot (AI Chatbot) – Instant medical Q&A with natural language understanding

💊 Medicine Scanner – Scan medicine labels to get info like usage, dosage, side effects

📄 Prescription Analyzer – Upload handwritten prescriptions and get structured data

🧭 AI-Based Nearby Hospital Navigator – Finds and navigates to nearest hospitals using AI and maps

⚖️ AI Health Recommendations – Personalized advice based on BMI, symptoms, and history

🛒 E-Pharmacy – Search and buy medicines online

📅 Appointment Booking – Schedule consultations

📰 Medical Blogs & Awareness – Health education through curated content

🛠️ How we built it Frontend: React.js, Tailwind CSS

Backend: Node.js, Express.js

AI Models & Services: Python (OCR, symptom checker, NLP chatbot), Flask

APIs Used: Google Maps API, Firebase, Razorpay

Libraries: OpenCV (prescription reading), Tesseract (OCR), Scikit-learn, TensorFlow

We integrated AI modules into a modular backend and connected them through APIs to the frontend. OCR was used for prescriptions, while NLP powers WellBot. The medicine scanner uses image classification and label reading.
