Inspiration
We wanted to help those who are in need of medications which is out of their reach because of monetary issues by directly connecting them to those who have surplus medicine and want to give it away instead of dumping it as trash.
What it does
Our service is a channel where the individual in search of medicines can raise a request and find a donor. These two parties transact on the medicine via a mediator who can act as a point for abuse and quality control. These mediators can be local pharmacies and safety net clinics and hospitals
How we built it
We built in a python and flask based server which handles all the transactions and details, while frontend is in bootstrap and angularjs and is the interface for our service
Challenges we ran into
Pulling up an AWS instance and deploying on it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Major portion of the architecture is on AWS.
What's next for Medic Relief
We will figure out the logistics and legality of this project, how we can move forward with law towards helping create a better society.
