Inspiration
1 in 17 patients are harmed in health care due to malpractice. Half of these are preventable.
What it does
MediBase allows healthcare professionals to share case studies of medical errors, learn from others, and improve patient safety.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the front-end, and WebSocket for real-time communication, backed by a server handling user authentication and data storage. Natural Language Processing is used to power the search function.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges with the short time span of the hackathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully created a user-friendly platform for sharing medical experiences and integrating real-time updates.
What we learned
We learned how to handle real-time data, improve user interface design, and ensure secure access to sensitive information.
What's next for MediBase
We plan to expand MediBase by adding more detailed search features, improving post categorization, and adding administrator controls.
