What it does

Media Database is a desktop application that lets users search for their favorite movies and TV shows. The application allows users to add them to their watchlist, write reviews on those movies, and view their overall rating. The application also helps users find new movies by allowing them to filter movies and TV shows by genre, movie, TV Show, and title. For premium users, the app features a recommendation engine which gives recommendations for your potential next binge.

How we built it

We built it using C# and SQLite.

Challenges we ran into

Time management was one of our main struggles. Another challenge was debugging the application when there was an exception.

What we learned

We learned how to develop GUIs in C# by using Visual Studio 2022, implementing a fully functional database.

What's next for Media Database

To showcase the trailers of the films, make the GUIs more visually appealing, and connect of database to the cloud, so that multiple users across the globe can connect to each other about their favourite media and actors.
