Medicine management system using react JS and blockchain

Inspiration

During a crisis/pandemic situation, we often feel the scarcity of generic medicines such as Paracetmol, Dettol liquids, Hand sanitizers etc., This application is born from the thought that if we can have a common platform during those situations for exchanging the common medicines(forget about vaccines), that will be helpful.

What it does

This is a common platform for exchange of medicines during the crisis. Donor is someone who can donate a medicine, seeker is someone who is in search of a medicine. Both can place request over the platform. Once a seeker places a request, donor approves the request and commits the blockchain transaction. Then seeker can see the approved request and collect the medicine from the address mentioned. Then the cycle continues. Here is a quick presentation link

How we built it

Front End: HTML, CSS, Javascript & REACT BackEnd: Smart contract, for registering the transactions.

Challenges we ran into

Initially I wanted to build it on Angular, I ran into issues when connecting to metamask. Hence, changed my plans to use React. Thanks to the react box provided by truffle.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I wanted to built an application which is scalable, customizable, adaptable and which has the latest technical area.

What we learned

This is my first blockchain application. Definitely learnt a lot on using React & Smart contracts.

What's next for Medi-chain

Future scope includes adding Artificial intelligence based suggestions, geolocation tagging to the donors & seekers etc.,
