Inspiration

There is a general problem with medical services in Arab countries, and specifically in Morocco. The goal of this platform is to create competition between doctors and hospitals to improve the quality of their work.

What it does

Sal-lmjarab is a platform where patients can: Search for doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies across Morocco Read and write real reviews about healthcare providers Book appointments online with verified doctors Access their medical records and manage appointments Communicate securely with healthcare providers Use the platform in Arabic, French, or English For providers, it offers: A way to manage their online presence and reputation Tools to streamline appointment scheduling and patient communication

How we built it

Frontend: React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion for UI/UX Backend: Supabase (Postgres, Auth, Storage) APIs: Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, LibreTranslate, Lingo.dev for translations, custom Telehealth API Other: React Router, React Hot Toast, Lucide Icons, Lingo.dev for i18n Multilingual: Full support for Arabic (RTL), French, and English

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring data privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations Handling right-to-left (RTL) layouts for Arabic Integrating multiple APIs (maps, translation, telehealth) smoothly Building a scalable, maintainable codebase for future growth Providing a seamless user experience across languages and devices

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Launched Morocco’s first comprehensive doctor review and booking platform Built a fully multilingual, accessible healthcare app Enabled real-time appointment booking and telehealth features Created a transparent review system to empower patients Fostered a community-driven approach to healthcare quality

What we learned

Building a healthcare platform requires a deep understanding of both patient and provider needs. Multilingual support (Arabic, French, English) is essential for accessibility in Morocco. Data privacy and security are critical when handling sensitive health information.

What's next for Sal lmjarab

Expand to more countries in the MENA region Add AI-powered symptom checker and health insights Integrate with insurance providers for seamless claims Launch a mobile app for iOS and Android Continue improving based on user feedback and healthcare trends
