Inspiration

MedCare+ was inspired by the critical need for better medication adherence. With millions of people missing doses daily, leading to poor health outcomes and increased healthcare costs, we wanted to create a solution that combines smart technology with user-friendly design. We saw an opportunity to transform medication management from a chore into an empowering health tool that provides valuable insights and keeps users engaged in their health journey. What it does

MedCare+ is a comprehensive medication management platform that helps users never miss a dose while providing intelligent insights into their health patterns. The app features smart medication tracking with one-tap logging, personalized reminders, visual adherence analytics, and AI-powered risk predictions. Users can manage complex medication regimens, export professional reports for healthcare providers, and gain valuable insights into their adherence patterns. The platform supports both free and premium tiers, with advanced features like detailed analytics, custom reminders.

How we built it We built MedCare+ using a modern, scalable architecture with React/TypeScript frontend and NestJS backend following Clean Architecture principles. The frontend uses Tailwind CSS and Shadcn/ui for a beautiful, responsive interface, while the backend implements domain-driven design with proper separation of concerns. We integrated multiple payment providers (Stripe and MercadoPago) for global accessibility, implemented real-time subscriptions using Supabase, and created a robust subscription system.

Challenges we ran into One of our biggest challenges was implementing a robust subscription system that works globally. We had to integrate multiple payment providers (Stripe and MercadoPago) to ensure accessibility across different regions and currencies. Another significant challenge was designing an intuitive user interface that could handle complex medication regimens while remaining simple enough for daily use. We also faced technical challenges with real-time data synchronization and ensuring the app works seamlessly across different devices and screen sizes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of We're particularly proud of creating a comprehensive medication management solution that truly serves users' needs. We successfully built a global payment system supporting multiple currencies and payment methods, making the app accessible worldwide. The clean, intuitive user interface that works across all devices, combined with robust backend architecture following best practices, demonstrates our commitment to quality. Most importantly, we created a solution that can genuinely improve medication adherence and health outcomes.

What we learned Throughout this project, we learned the importance of user-centered design in healthcare applications - every feature must serve a clear purpose in improving health outcomes. We gained deep insights into payment system integration, particularly the complexities of supporting multiple providers and currencies globally. The project taught us valuable lessons about implementing AI features responsibly in healthcare contexts and the critical importance of data security and privacy. We also learned how to balance feature complexity with user experience, ensuring advanced capabilities remain accessible to all users.

What's next for MedCare+ We plan to expand MedCare+ with advanced AI features including medication interaction warnings and personalized health recommendations. Additionally, we plan to implement machine learning models for more accurate adherence predictions and personalized health insights.
