DESCRIPTION: MedBot is an attended robot designed to help doctors to faster diagnose and interpret patients' imagistic investigations. This bot will take as input photos of a patient's x-rays and based on two CUSTOM deep learning models (one that deals with identifying breast tumors and one that identifies lung illnesses like pneumonia caused by COVID-19), will provide a diagnostic and automatically complete the patient's medical record. The patient's information needed for completing the medical record - first name, last name, birthdate, city etc is going to be retrieved using image preprocessing and OCR on the patient's ID.

IMPACT: Given the current medical context, it makes sense to do everything we can to help the healthcare system work faster and better. A breast cancer discovered in early stages means more chances of recovering. Also, detecting pneumonia, which is nowadays the death cause of people with COVID-19, is another functionality that can save lives. Automating the healthcare system means allowing the doctors to focus on saving human lives!
