Inspiration

I took inspiration from movies, from the real societal problems that we see around us.

What it does

It helps the user to understand the Hospital Bill before they pay, if the Bill is absolutely correct or not.

How we built it

Frontend: React, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Recharts, Lucide React Backend: Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic Database: SQLite (Easily migratable to PostgreSQL) AI: Configurable Provider Abstraction (OpenAI / Demo Mode)

Challenges we ran into

We are still left with many benchmarks that should be added and we will try our best to add them later.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A very much trustable coverage on realistic bills, with every single match carrying its real source. We tried to never fake one number to get there.

What we learned

1. Let failing tests interrogate you.
2. The environment is part of the system.
3. Test it before promising.

What's next for MedBill Lens

We will add many things in our prototype to make it working in a trustworthy way. The lacking that it contains till now will be recovered later on.
